Avui divendres 19 de febrer al 60 º Festival Internacional de Cinema de Berlín, un dels més importants del món, es van donar a conèixer els premis FIPRESCI, atorgats pel jurat de la Federació Internacional de la Premsa Cinematogràfica i en la secció FORUM el Premi FIPRESCI va ser atorgat a la pel · lícula colombiana EL GIR DEL CRANC del director Oscar Ruiz Navia.
ESTRENA A COLÒMBIA 12 DE MARÇ
El debut colombià d'Oscar Ruiz Navia va ser una de les grans sorpreses al Festival Internacional de Cinema de Berlín - i va convèncer al jurat de FIPRESCI amb la frescor i naturalitat de la seva visió.
EL GIR DEL CRANC, produïda per contravía Films i Diana Bustamante en co producció amb la companyia francesa Arizona Films, va tenir el seu premier europea a la secció FORUM de Berlín amb totes les funcions plenes i una calorosa rebuda del públic, enmig del inclement fred que castiga a Berlin.
El director i guionista va afirmar recentment "Quan veig la pel · lícula sento que tot aquest temps de treball va valer molt la pena, que cal seguir millorant, i que la vida continua. Que la gent és més important que el cinema, que s'ha de dubtar de tot el que un fa per seguir creixent i que la llibertat és l'única forma real de creació. Que el cinema que m'agrada és de bergants, que només amb una colla un pot aconseguir-ho ".
El camí que ha recorregut l'òpera prima d'Oscar Ruiz Navia, EL GIR DEL CRANC, és un dels més reeixits del cinema colombià. Després de la seva estrena mundial al Festival Internacional de Cinema de Toronto (Canadà), on la crítica la va considerar una obra que remetia a les sensacions aconseguides per Samuel Beckett (Variety) i va ser comparada amb l'arriscada filmografia del cineasta portuguès Pedro Costa (Cinema Scope), el film posteriorment va guanyar el premi especial del jurat a Millor Opera Prima al Festival del Nou cinema Llatinoamericà de l'Havana, (Cuba) el desembre passat, per arribar finalment a aquest guardó de la crítica especialitzada d'un dels festivals que és referència vital del cinema del món, a pocs dies de la seva estrena a les sales colombianes el proper 12 de març.
Ambientada a la comunitat afrocolombiana de la Barra a la costa del Pacífic de Colòmbia, el poètic film narra la història del drama d'un home jove, tractant de fugir del seu passat, en el marc d'un xoc cultural entre un poblet remot i la modernitat . "M'agrada el cinema que sorgeix de l'aparentment irrisori i en el camí em converteix el món en una epifania. M'interessa la vida quotidiana, la vida descarregada d'espectacle, el documental i la poesia. Vull seguir treballant al peu del canó entre el real, el poètic i el fictici. Crec que la bellesa és una eina de comunicació supremament fort, però no la bellesa bucòlica, ni la bellesa ingènua, sinó la bellesa que sorgeix d'un dolor, la bellesa que planteja una ideologia de les coses, un punt de vista amb caràcter. Un lament. Una elegia. El polític sense utilitzar el llenguatge obvi, sinó el obtús. La ideologia barrejada amb la forma, i la forma barrejada amb la ideologia. El cinema és molt ampli i és un art en construcció, pensar que el cinema és única i exclusivament per explicar una història és realment subvalorar el seu potencial.
